Dear CPAVTS Families:

I hope this communication finds everyone healthy.  Thank you for your continued efforts as we move through the 4th Marking Period with remote learning.  I would like to commend the engagement of students for their work completing assignments.

As we get closer to the completion of the school year, there are several announcements and updates:

  1. Remote Education Assignments
  • Students should continue to complete the assignments posted in their Google Classrooms. Instructors are readily available through Office Hours, email, and for 1:1 assistance.  Please do not hesitate to contact instructors.
  • The 4th Marking Period WILL NOT be factored into a student’s overall average. Assignments are based on completion only.  Students will be issued a “Pass” for the 4th Marking Period by completing 70% of the assignments.

  1. Equipment Pickup, Locker Cleanout and Textbook/Device Return
  • Please see the below equipment/locker cleanout schedule.
    • Students must wear facemasks for admittance and while in the building during their specified time.
    • Students must enter at the main entrance only.
    • Students will only be permitted into their program area.
    • Protocols will be in place to maintain appropriate safety measures, including limiting the number of students at any one time. Your patience and cooperation is greatly appreciated!

  1. Awards Night
  • CPAVTS is planning an Awards Night for June 30th, 2020. A determination will be made on the event based on the official guidance of state and local officials.  Information will be forthcoming.
    • PLAN A – Cumberland Drive-In (715 Centerville Road, Newville PA).
    • PLAN B – Virtual Awards Ceremony broadcast.
  1. Industry Credentials for Seniors

  1. College Credit Articulation Agreements for Seniors
  • Many schools will grant CPAVTS students college credits based on completion of their program task list. A listing of these may be found through the program pages on the school website: cpavts.org -->Programs -->(select program) -->College Credits.
  • In many cases, credits awarded are dependent upon the NOCTI exam, which as we know has been cancelled.
  • HACC has established a procedure where a case-by-case review will occur based on grades and task completion. Students attending HACC are encouraged to contact their admissions counselor for more information.  CPAVTS counselors can also provide assistance.
  • It is highly recommended that students attending other post-secondary schools that grant credits based on program completion contact that individual school.

Please do not hesitate to contact CPAVTS staff members for assistance with any concerns or questions during this time.

Sincerely,

Justin Bruhn

Administrative Director
