The establishment of advisory committees is mandated by law for all career and technical secondary and post-secondary institutions, and the main purpose of these groups is to provide guidance on school operations. CPAVTS has both a Local Advisory Committee, comprised of professionals from local businesses, and an Occupational Advisory Committee, which consists of 22 individual groups of community partners specialized in each program.
Advisory committees are set in place to assist the school in aligning curricula, college credit and industry certification offerings, student achievement standards, equipment, and safety measures to the current industry standards. CPAVTS possesses both a Local Advisory Committee and an Occupational Advisory Committee; more information on these groups can be found via the links to the left.
