Catching Up With...Daulton Bigler, Class of '16
Daulton is a graduate of Cumberland Valley High School and the Advertising, Art and Design Program. He visited CPAVTS last school year, to do a project for previous instructor, Mrs. Lenker- Badorf, and graciously took some time to fill us in on what he has been up to in his industry.
Here is what he had to say:
Describe the company or industry in which you currently work.
“Factor X Graphics, which is a large industry warehouse and commercial sign manufacturer. We also print banners, vehicle wraps and barcodes.”
What is your job title and what do you do?
“I am a graphic designer and I work on the production floor. I also handle the racecar graphics and instillation department.”
What other employment have you had related to your program areas at CPAVTS?
“I was hired right after graduating from CPAVTS and I have been full-time at Factor X Graphics (Owned by former Advertising student, and current OAC member, Chad Mullen), ever since.”
What additional education and training did you receive after leaving CPAVTS?
“Nothing additional. I have used a lot of my design skills that were acquired through CPAVTS, and I continue to use them on a daily basis.”
How was Cumberland Perry different than you regular high school?
“It taught me the skills necessary to work in a field I wanted a career in. I am very thankful for everything CPAVTS does for kids.”
How has your industry changed since your time at Cumberland Perry?
“Technology is always changing, but signs are signs, and they are always in demand.”
What is your favorite CPAVTS memory?
“Working with multiple shops, as well as NTHS with designing logos, flyers, designing and installing the Culinary Café decal on their window.”
