Describe the company or industry in which you currently work.
“I am currently working for Tuckey, which is an HVAC/R company, which also deals with Metal Fabrication and Restoration.”
What is your job title and what do you do?
“I am an HVAC technician in training. That means I ride with a technician and help with general maintenance and also troubleshoot when something is not working.”
What other employment have you had related to your program areas at CPAVTS?
“I have not worked for any other HVAC company, I was a Cooperative Education student with Tuckey my final year at CPAVTS, and that transitioned into a full time position after graduation.”
What additional education and training did you receive after leaving CPAVTS?
“Any additional training was on the job, from working with a technician. CPAVTS did help prepare me for this be giving me skills and the troubleshooting way of thinking that I use today.”
How was Cumberland Perry different than your regular high school?
“Cumberland Perry is just a really different place. It trains you in a specific skill that you must know for your future employment, and life in general. You determine that training based on what you are interested in pursuing. This school prepares teenagers for the transition into adulthood, and sets them up for success.”
How has your industry changed?
“Technology has definitely gotten much smarter since I left on a year ago! It will continue to advance as time goes on, things are always changing.”
What is your favorite CPAVTS memory?
“My favorite memory is the entire time I was here...it’s impossible to narrow it down! Meeting people from different schools, learning useful information, and having an amazing teacher! All of it shaped me into who I am today. I am so grateful for my time at CPAVTS, and education. I have so many incredible memories, I can’t even count them.”
