Cooperative Education Spotlight- Kyler Hooks
Kyler Hooks spends the second half of each school day working for L.B. Smith Ford in Leymone. He is currently enrolled in the Automotive Collision program at Cumberland Perry AVTS. After 2 years of classroom training, he decided to put his skillset to work and applied for a position with LB Smith. He is now gainfully employed and working through the Cooperative Education program at CPAVTS. Each day brings a new adventure for the Northern York High School senior as he learns the ropes of the real world. Disassembly and reassemble vehicles, read estimates, apply body filler, prep vehicles for paint, prime and sand vehicles are all part of a job description that Kyler is more than prepared to handle. He loves the fact that everyone in the shop is friendly and always helping him learn the tricks of the trade. He is patiently waiting to graduate as he has a full time position waiting on him. Kyler knew from day one that he wanted to repair crashed cars and thanks to having a good career plan and Vocational Education background, he is prepared for the real world.
