In January of 2021, CPAVTS will launch a full day Fire/EMT program to senior students during the second semester.  This program operates with instruction by the Bucks County Community College Department of Public Safety and Shippensburg Area EMS.  Instruction classes will be held at the Silver Spring Community Fire Company, at 6471 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg.

This course offers extensive certifications such as: EMT, First Aid & CPR, Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, Vehicle Technical Rescuer Awareness and Operations, and Firefighter.  This program features nine college credits towards an A.A. Degree in Fire Science, or six credits towards an A.A. Degree in Emergency Management at Bucks CCC.

Students will need to provide their own transportation, lunch, uniform, and retain background clearances.  Students must be members of their local fire company, with a good standing membership but assistance can be provided to unite students and fire companies if necessary.

CPAVTS is excited to offer this accelerated Fire/EMT course to bridge the gap of student training in an immediate high demand occupation. Visit www.cpavts.org, Programs, Human Services tab, Fire/EMT link, to view al the details.
